Software Engineer (.NET) - TS/SCI Department of State, Washington, DC Job Posting ID# MSI-232

Miklos Systems, Inc. (MSI) is currently looking for a talented Software Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance to support our customer at the Department of State in Washington, DC.

Job Description

The Software Engineer will assist in building and maintaining back-end interfaces to community-wide systems and to our customer's database, SharePoint and web portal environment. The selected individual will be involved in the requirements gathering, planning, development, and testing of this environment. Responsibilities will include the following:

  • .NET Design and Development, including MVC (Model View Controller) Work with stakeholders to define requirements and develop solutions.  Involved in all phases of lifecycle development, including requirements gathering, design, development, documentation, and maintenance.
  • Initial tasks involve enhancing and upgrading the interfaces in existing Security infrastructure. These interfaces include the following: Logon and attribute-based security; Auditing capabilities; Security product interfaces; XML and web services
  • Help design and implement web services in support of various needs as we move to an AWS cloud computing.
  • Build and support interfaces between .NET and other systems
  • Work on additional development and support tasks. Development and support work exists for several systems and sites, INR Production Modernization, VBA macros, Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO), MS Access and SQL Server databases, and the IC Search System.
  • Help implement front-end sites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, among other code
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Continuously examine new technology and make recommendations regarding the suitability and effectiveness of systems in the customer's environment
  • Work with the other members of the technical team to continually improve and evolve capabilities
  • Support end-user and administrator issues and training.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • An active TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 1-4 years of software development experience
  • Microsoft .NET experience (C# or VB.NET)
  • HTML/5 and CSS/3.
  • JavaScript and/or JQuery.
  • APIs and/or web services

The following qualifications are a plus:

  • ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web Forms, VBA or VSTO Amazon Web Services, or other cloud development
  • SharePoint 2010 or 2013
